Timothy León is an uniquely diverse artist, equally adept as an operatic tenor, a conductor and a pianist.  Mr. León has been featured with such companies as Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Opera, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Pacific Chorale, Pacific Repertory Opera, Golden State Pops Orchestra, Opera San Luis Obispo, Nevada Opera Theater and in Europe with Opera Toscana, New Operafestival di Roma, Tuscia Operafestival and Narnia Festival. 

 

A specialist in the Italian language and repertoire,  Mr. León sings many leading roles in the standard repertoire including Norma, La Traviata, Don Giovanni, and Madama Butterfly to name a few. Maestro León’s conducting credits include Pagliacci/Suor Angelica for StageWorks Festival in Washington, D.C., Le Nozze di Figaro, La Traviata, Suor Angelica, L’elisir d’amoreand Verdi’s Requiem in Italy with Tuscia Operafestival, and more recently forays into the bel canto repertoire conducting Donizetti’s masterpiece Anna Bolenafor Opera by the Glass,La Sonnambula  and an outstanding production of Bellini’s I Capuleti e I Montecchi with Hawkmore Lyric Opera.   Having sustained a relationship as a singer, coach, and conductor with Tuscia Operafestival and the International Lyric Academy of Rome/Viterbo for more than 14 years, he now collaborates in a similar capacity with the Narnia Festival in Umbria, Italia, which includes training young artists worldwide.

 

Naxos.  Maestro León serves as Music Director/Conductor for three Los Angeles based opera companies: Hawkmore Lyric OperaaufMr. León's engagements now expand into the German repertoire singing his first Wagnerian tenor role in Los Angeles Lyric Opera's production of Die Feen, and Bacchus in Strauss’ Ariadne ,, Landmark Opera and Opera by the Glass. His collaborative colleagues have included renowned singers Carol Neblett, Rod Gilfry, Elizabeth Futral, Erie Mills, Birgit Nilsson, Zeffin Quinn Hollis, Fedora Barbieri, Hao Jiang Tian and Giorgio Tozzi.  Future engagements include singing the role of  Pollione in Bellini’s Norma and another summer abroad in Italy with the Narnia Festival and some concertizing in Germany, Lebanon and Dubai.

 

Mr. León has served as Artistic Advisor/Conductor for Tuscia OperaFestival, Music Director/Conductor of The Celestial Opera Company, Assistant Conductor for Pacific Opera Project, Golden Gate Opera, Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival and Pacific Repertory Opera, Narnia Festival and the Marina Del Rey Summer Symphony concerts.  He is the founder/creator of the OASIS Concert Series at Hollywood Lutheran Church and maintains  private vocal studios in Los Angeles and New York.

An international performing artist, Rebecca has most recently performed in December of 2018 as the Mother in Genesis Opera's inaugural production of Amahl and the Night Visitors of Menotti. Earlier in 2018, she performed with the Temecula Symphony Orchestra as Amneris in the Triumphal Scene from Aida by Verdi, under the direction of Maestro John Mario Di Costanzo. She has been a featured artist at the Etruria Opera Festival in Tarquinia and the Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy from 2009 to 2017 as well as performing recitals and concerts in the US and Southern California area. 

 

In November of 2014, Rebecca organized and performed the title role in the Suor Angelica Project, a fundraiser for the San Diego Opera. This collaboration with the San Diego Symphony and members of the San Diego Opera Chorus raised over $7500 for the Opera, which was in danger of folding.



Rebecca has been a performer with the San Diego Opera and is a former member of the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. She is featured on their 1996 release Christmas with the Master Chorale (Pilot Records). Other recordings include Mahler VIII - Symphony of 1000 (Telarc) in the chorus with the late Robert Shaw. Other conductors and coaches Rebecca has worked with include the late Robert Shaw, the late Sir David Willcocks, the late Julius Rudel, Stefano Vignati, Dr. Robert Summer, John Mario DI Costanzo, and Karen Kamensk. Vocal coaches include the late Cesare Rufini, Annetta Monroe, and Michael Sokol.  

Rebecca is equally at home as a conductor and chorusmaster as well as performer. Rebecca has been the chorus master and assistant to the maestro at the International Lyric Academy since 2012. Chorus master credits include The Magic Flute (2018 and 2016), Don Giovanni (2019), Amahl and the Night Visitors (2018), and Suor Angelica (various productions. Rebecca currently conducts four choirs--one children's choir, one middle-school choir, and two adult choirs. Rebecca has been on the faculty of the International Lyric Academy in Vicenza and Rome, Italy. She has also sung concerts and recitals in New York City, London, Edinburgh, various cities in Italy, as well as locally here in California and Florida. Rebecca maintains a large piano and voice studio in Carlsbad and San Diego, California, and is the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in La Costa, Carlsbad. Rebecca is thrilled to be working with the Genesis Opera Theatre as a performer, the chorusmaster, webmaster, and administrative assistant to Cynthia Leigh and Doug Freidman. 

Abraham Fabella is a conductor, pianist and composer based in Southern California. He is the Artistic and Music Director of Riverside Lyric Opera, and has worked with local opera companies including Celestial Opera, Repertory Opera Company and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera. He is also the Accompanist of Raincross Master Chorale and the Director of Music at All Saints' Episcopal Church, both of which are in Riverside. Abe received his graduate degree in composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied with renowned opera composer, Conrad Susa
